Funny RPG stories

They can be from any system, any adventure, funny or just plain wierd.

This was from my first game I ever DMed, I had the group start in a tavern (unoriginal I know). Most of the party was rangers or rogues. now I knew somethng was up, when they started asking what the tavern was made out of. I had created the innkeeper to play a part in the ending of the campaign, so he was strong. They managed to get him so angry, by trying to set fire to his establishment, and start bar fights. They all ran out of the Tavern, but the two rangers and the rogue, pinned the bard to the ground before leaving town, and the bard to her doom...

It was just a couple of weeks ago in a D&D session. I had the PCs in a cave and the evil Wizard out to get them trapped everyone inside the cave system with an earthquake. One character, the druid who hated caves and inclosed space, freaked out, started screaming and running around. The paladin tried to calm her down, with an intimidate... unfortunatly, and pointed her sword against the druids pet Owlbear and the druid knocked the paladin down (she was already at a very low hp). That made the other characters kill the druid but I must say, she did put up a hell of a fight. Druids who have pet Owlbears are strong even at level 2. It was definently one of those things that the party will remember for a long time

Back in 2nd Edition it was pretty wild getting hit with Prismatic Cone. A spell in which you roll a 1d8 to see how the spell affects you. A lawful good paladin in the group being hit with an insanity spell mid combat can turn the tables in the favor of the evil wizard you have been sent to kill. Or worse just being instantly teleported to the Elemental Plane Earth and being crushed to death under tons of rock; or the Elemental Plane of Air and falling... and falling... and falling... and falling for all of eternity. (Each of these scenarios were the fate of different members of the same party.)

I once played a very selfish wizard that refused to get into combat. It was true enough that he would help the party but would do everything in his power to get out of combat and not be seen by the enemy. One day the wizard let his companions fly into battle, while he stayed behind and hid in another room. Soon all of the commotion and noise died down but unbeknownst to him due to the fact that all of his companions fell in combat and he was the only one left alive. The wizard not knowing that his companions were dead opened the door to the encounter and took a flying barb to the head (critical damage) from a mawcore.
